In a time where COVID-19 is currently taking over the world, a lot of things have taken a pause. From daily activities, in person classes, and even film production, the world appears to be on hold for the time being.

Well, a few days ago was the annual Kids Choice Awards, and while it was in the form of a virtual livestream, the show still went on.

Hosted by Victoria Justice, the show partnered with the No Kid Hungry organization, to raise money for those affected by COVID-19. No Kid Hungry is ensuring that children have a source of food during these trying times, and that families don’t have to worry about struggling to pay for a meal.

Actor and recording artist, Asher Angel, performed a beautiful acoustic version of his single, “All Day”.

The cast of Avengers: Endgame, Dove Cameron, David Dobrik, BTS, Ariana Grande, JoJo Siwa, Shawn Mendes, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Ellen DeGeneres, SSSniperWolf, Camila Cabello, Millie Bobby Brown, and more made a guest appearance on the show.

The list of nominees were so well deserved, but unfortunately, only one person/cast (per category) would be going home with the orange Nickelodeon blimp.

  • The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part

  • The Secret Life of Pets 2

Frozen 2 won the award, and accepting on behalf was non other than Anna herself: Kristen Bell. Bell was dressed in an Anna costume, and was joined by the rest of the cast (well, sort of. They were all action figures, since the real cast couldn’t be there). After thanking the fans for their love and support, Bell tried to pass the microphone to the other cast members. However, they were honestly pretty rude. They didn’t even look her way, and just kind of kept to themselves…

  • Ella Anderson (Henry Danger)
  • Riele Downs (Henry Danger)

Millie Bobby Brown won for her role as Eleven, in the Netflix original show, Stranger Things. For their 19th Kid’s Choice win, Spongebob Squarepants was the winner. Accepting on behalf of the show, was Spongebob and Patrick themselves: Tom Kenny and Bill Fagerbakke.

The speech was very humorous, and Kenny even pointed out that Patrick is now the prime role model for social distancing. After all, he does live under a rock, isolated with nothing but sand and a television.

Favorite Male TV Star:

The nominees were between:

  • Jace Norman
  • Joshua Bassett

  • Annie LeBlanc
  • Liza Koshy
  • Emma Chamberlain
  • Lilly Singh
  • Miranda Sings

Favorite Movie:

The nominees were between:

  • Aladdin
  • Avengers: Endgame
  • Captain Marvel
  • Jumanji: The Next Level
  • Spider-Man: Far From Home
  • Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

The winning movie was Avengers: Endgame. Accepting on behalf of the film were superheroes: Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, and Jeremy Renner. They humorously hinted at a very important part of the Endgame film, and thanked their fans for the win.

Victoria Justice ended the show with a blast… of slime. She went into position outside, and her sister, Madison Grace Reed, joined her. Within seconds, the two were completely covered in slime.

It must’ve been tough to pull off a virtual awards show, but Nickelodeon made it seem like a piece of cake, and that’s what it’s all about.
