Lizzo is known for her talented flute playing, and her powerful vocals. However, recently, she showed how much of a queen she really is.
Two days ago, Lizzo posted a TikTok video, in which she called out bodyshamers. The video starts off with her riding an exercise bicycle, followed by a voiceover element. She stated that she’s been working out consistently for the past five years, and that she doesn’t care what other people think about her body type. The visuals then switched to Lizzo doing various exercise techniques.
“I’m not working to have your ideal body type. I’m working to have my ideal body type”, the singer stated. She then went on to say that it was nobody else’s business what she looks like, because she is beautiful, she is strong, and she does her job.
In the midst of this part of the voiceover, she transitions between clips of herself in gorgeous swimsuits, bodysuits, etc. She then proceeds to tell people that “the next time you want to judge somebody, whether they eat kale smoothies or McDonalds, or work out, or not work out, how about you look at your own f*cking self, and worry about your own damn body?”
Lizzo ends the TikTok by saying that health is not just determined by what someone looks on the outside, but also what they look like on the inside, and she recommends that the judgmental ones cleanse their insides.
The TikTok has already amassed over 12 million views, and the comments were filled with positivity towards the singer.
Then, just yesterday, Lizzo decided to grace her fans with another wonderful TikTok. However, instead of speaking, she duetted the video with a family account — @uploads_of_fun.
The original video included creators: Josh, Jackson, and Calvin. A TikTok troll decided to leave a comment on one of their earlier TikTok videos, stating that, “your son really needs to go and at least exercise he’s gonna be the next lizzo if he doesn’t.” This comment was aimed at 10-year old Calvin, and although the comment was meant to be an insult towards both Lizzo and Calvin, he took it as a major compliment.
When the family reacted to the comment in a separate video, Calvin was cheering. “Oh, yeah!! I’d love to be the next Lizzo! So, how about you just kiss my a**!” It was absolutely hilarious and incredible that he could take a comment that was meant to be rude, and turn it into a celebration.
Luckily, the video didn’t go unnoticed. It quickly went viral, and Lizzo was smiling and laughing at the family’s reaction to the comment. Then, like the icon that she is, she captioned the duet: “Oh u mean the next million dollar dealin, cover of Vogue having, 3x Grammy award winning, icon, actress, activist, w a perfect a**?”
I mean, she has a good point. Who wouldn’t want to be the next Lizzo?
