2020 has been a very unusual, crazy year so far. Between a possible World War III, extreme Australian wildfires, the emergence of murder hornets into the U.S., a global pandemic, and an increase in police brutality against the black community, it’s safe to say that the world has been through a lot.
Tuesday, November 3rd, 2020, is the next Election Day in the United States. Prior to just a few days ago, the only presidential candidates were Donald Trump (Republican Party) and Joe Biden (Democratic Party).
However, yesterday, Kanye West published a statement on Twitter — in which he declared that he is also running for U.S. President.
Back in 2015, West ended his VMA speech by stating that he was planning on running for president in the year 2020.
“As you probably could’ve guessed by this moment, I have decided, in 2020, to run for President”, the rapper revealed.
According to a 2015 CNN article, West had even sold “Yeezus For President” merchandise on his website.
The public has since expressed a lot of disapproval, in response to West’s statement.
Although a lot of people disagree with West becoming the next U.S. president, Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, has chosen to fully support his presidential campaign.
Kim Kardashian-West has also shown support for her husband’s statement, by tweeting out an American flag emoji.
Official paperwork, declaring West as a new presidential nominee, has yet to be released.
