It’s been eight years since the release of the first “Pitch Perfect” film, and three years since “Pitch Perfect 3” first premiered.

The original “Pitch Perfect” follows Beca Mitchell’s journey through her Freshman year of college. Mitchell’s dream is to pursue a career as a music producer, but her father is persistent on Mitchell finishing college. So, Mitchell begins working at a campus record store, where she meets the ever so dreamy, Jesse Swanson.

Swanson belongs to the Treblemakers — the on-campus male acapella group. After striking a deal with her father, Mitchell tries out for The Barden Bellas — the on-campus female acapella group. After numerous moments of hesitation, Mitchell grows to love the Bellas.

Although it’s been quite some time since we last saw the cast, they surprised fans with a virtual reunion, earlier today. The reunion consisted of: Hailee Steinfeld, Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Hana Mae Lee, Alexis Knapp, Brittany Snow, Anna Camp, Chrissie Fit, Kelley Jakle, and Shelley Regner. The purpose of this reunion was to promote their acapella rendition of “Love On Top” by Beyoncé.

A portion of the proceeds from their “Love on Top” rendition will go towards the UNICEF Organization, to provide relief for the children of Lebanon.

As if a global pandemic wasn’t enough to deal with, the citizens of Beirut are now facing the aftermath of a major warehouse explosion. According to an article by the BBC, the Beirut explosion caused approximately 300,000 people to be homeless, 200 deaths, 5,000 injuries, and between $10-$15 billion in damages.

The Barden Bella’s rendition of “Love on Top” is currently available on all major streaming platforms, such as: Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and the iTunes store.
