Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart met on the set of “Riverdale”, in 2017. Shortly after their characters (Betty Cooper and Jughead Jones) began to date, rumors swirled that Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart were dating.

However, due to the fact that both Sprouse and Reinhart preferred to keep their dating life private, their relationship was merely speculation (with the occasional teasers). That is, until August of 2018, when things started heating up.

In August of 2018, the two began posting more photos with one another, along with heartfelt captions. Their co-workers/on-screen parents, Skeet Ulrich and Mädchen Amick, discussed Sprouse and Reinhart’s relationship, during a 2018 interview with Entertainment Tonight.

“It’s great. I mean, they didn’t talk about [their relationship] the entire time, until just recently. So, it’s nice that they’re able to now, like, be public with it, so it’s not so under wraps”, Amick stated.

The two slowly began opening up to the public, and while they’ve never discussed their relationship in depth, they’ve posted numerous photos with one another, in which they shared public displays of affection.

Last Summer, however, fans began to speculate whether or not their relationship had come to an end. On July 21st, Sprouse and Reinhart had both attended a “Riverdale” panel at the San Diego Comic-Con. Allegedly, the two had attended the event separately, and their interactions were scarce.

Earlier this year, there were rumors circulating that Cole Sprouse had cheated on Lili Reinhart with actress/model, Kaia Gerber. Those rumors were quickly shut down, after Sprouse and Reinhart voiced their frustrations to the public:

On April 22nd, Reinhart responded in a since deleted tweet:

“Twitter is actually the most toxic form of social media. People are a**holes for the sake of being a**holes. Do you not understand karma? It’s fine if you don’t, you’ll understand when it bites your miserable a**”.

On Tuesday, August 18th, Refinery29 released their candid interview with Reinhart. In the interview, Reinhart opens up about her life-long battle with mental health, and what her daily life consisted of as an aspiring actress.

Reinhart told Refinery29 that, “I couldn’t see the light. I was like, I feel like I’m dying. It was fucking rough, and there’s no other way through it than just through it. I’ve seen a lot of people when it comes to heartache and grief and breakups, and they try to get that void filled with sex, with coke, with food, with drinking, [but] the void is still there. I took the road less traveled and just dealt with my shit. I had to face my own pain head-on.”

Although the interview clearly depicted Reinhart’s struggle with mental health, the above quote was taken out of context. Fans and certain media outlets began to associate Reinhart’s statement with her breakup.

However, Reinhart was quick to dismiss their speculation. Yesterday, Reinhart took to Twitter to address the meaning behind her quotes:

Earlier today, Sprouse posted a photo of Reinhart on Instagram. His caption was filled with words of endearment towards his Riverdale co-star, and he briefly addressed the timeline of their breakup.

Sprouse revealed that the two had temporarily separated in January, before deciding to permanently end their relationship in March.

We’re glad to see that although they are no longer together, Sprouse and Reinhart are still there to support one another.
