So, we’re all stuck at home for a few weeks. No public gatherings, no work, no school, and no concerts… Well, that’s where you’re wrong. Celebrities, such as John Legend and Chris Martin from Coldplay have performed for the public, through Instagram live performances (if you missed it, they uploaded their full livestreams onto their Instagram profiles). This is all part of a virtual concert series, created by The Global Citizen organization, and the WHO. The series is called, “Together At Home”.
Since a lot of people are panicking, and there’s a lot of negativity being spread throughout social media, they figured: Why not share some music and entertain their fans? After all, music IS the universal language.
During his livestream, Legend nominated Miguel and Charlie Puth. Although Miguel has yet to give a performance of his own, Puth was quick to accept the challenge.
Early yesterday, Charlie Puth took to Instagram live, and performed a few songs for some fans. He started off by singing and playing the piano to his hit single, “One Call Away”.
He then talked a bit about how prior to the livestream, he watched about fifteen hours of TikTok (honestly, Charlie, same). Then, he went on to discuss the songwriting process of “One Call Away”.
Put admitted that he had the least amount of songwriting credits on “One Call Away”. He was in some sort of record label camp, and his friend, Frankie, went up to Charlie and asked if he remembered the early 2000’s song, “One Call Away.” He then proceeded to pitch the “I’m only one call away” lyrics and melody to Puth, and after that, everything came together.
After explaining that process, Puth played a beautiful rendition of the James Taylor song, “You’ve Got A Friend”. He admitted that there was a line in the song, where Taylor sings the words, “see you again”, and that’s what inspired Puth to title his own song, “See You Again”. Although the Taylor record didn’t have anything to do with Puth’s song in terms of melody or lyrics, it was the inspiration behind the 2015 hit song, ft. Wiz Khalifa.
We were able to learn a lot about Charlie Puth in this 29 minute livestream, and it was much more personal than watching a YouTube interview, or a red carpet interview. He revealed a secret that the audience hadn’t known about the song, “Attention”. The song was originally supposed to be a classical piece, but while on tour in the Philippines, he started playing around with multiple versions, until he started getting closer. Then, after listening to “Give It To Me Baby” by Rick James, Puth was finally able to create the version of “Attention” that’s on all streaming platforms today.
Of course, after explaining how he created “Attention”, he had to give the fans what they wanted. He chose the right key, and worked his magic on the piano, as he sang a unique live version of the song.
Charlie Puth then started talking about how social distancing has helped him in more ways than one. He admitted that he doesn’t usually read, but he’ll most likely find some type of book to read, or watch a movie that he’d most likely never watch on a normal day. Then, he went into depth about how he’s recently had time to do some research on today’s musical trends, and how it compares to music from the past.
He states that, “trends that once were a thing kind of resurface in different forms.” It’s actually really interesting to hear, because he compares the chords from “Stayin’ Alive” by the Bee Gees, to the infamous TikTok dance, “Say So” by Doja Cat, and wow. The chord progression is so similar, and it showcases how songs from the past are trying to be incorporated into the songs of today.
Put ended the livestream by singing one last song. Can you guess what it is? If you guessed “See You Again”, then you’re absolutely correct.
If you missed Charlie Puth’s livestream, he uploaded the full 29 minutes onto his Instagram profile. So, go listen when you get the chance!
Stay tuned later today, because Common will be hitting Instagram live at 5:30 pm EST/2:30 pm PST, and Niall Horan will be hitting Instagram live tonight, at 4 pm EST/1 pm PST, to give their own virtual concerts.
BlumHouse is known for its extreme supernatural/horror films. Nowadays, between so many cliches, and the amount of boring thrillers that there are, I only watch horror films if its through BlumHouse productions.
Recently, I went with a friend to see the new Fantasy Island movie in theaters, and I’ll start off by saying that it didn’t disappoint. Although the film was in no way scary, it was different from anything that I’ve ever seen before.
It started off with five contest winners getting off of a private plane. They arrived on a beautiful island, and they walked onto the island with the intention of having their dreams come true. Before arriving to their destination, each of the participants had to write down their biggest fantasy, so that the employees could make their dreams a reality.
Well, that’s exactly what they did. The protagonist, Melanie, wanted to get revenge on the woman who bullied her all throughout high school. When it was her turn for her own fantasy, she walked into a dark basement room, flipped the light on, and her high school bully was strapped to a chair in a room opposite from her. She assumed that it was just a hologram, but rest assured that it was not.
It was the beginning of a long, and very unpredictable adventure. One contestant after the other had their deepest desires, and life long fantasies brought to life. The island was truly something special, and they were all having the time of their lives.
That is, until it got dark. There were secrets that were sprinkled in, that had the audience on the edge of their seats. That was something that I have to give BlumHouse a lot of credit for. The entire film was very mysterious, and only revealed what the filmmakers wanted us to know.
They also gave absolutely no time to analyze. Whenever I see a new film, I’m always very analytical, and I like to predict what’s going to happen before the end. Fantasy Island was one of those rare films, where I wasn’t able to predict the ending. I kept trying to think about it, but it was so fast paced, that if you blinked for even a minute, you missed something.
The special effects were incredible, and having been present on film sets in the past, I know how difficult it is to prepare for each scene. I give a lot of credit to the art department, for building each of the fantasy sets, because that kind of stuff takes a lot of time.
After watching the film, I was trying to figure out where I’ve seen a concept like that, and what I could compare it to, and honestly, I ended up not being able to compare it to anything. I went in, expecting to be scared, and although that didn’t happen, it was worth every cent of what I paid for. I paid for something unique, and that’s exactly what I got and more.
Also, Lucy Hale’s acting in the film was absolutely superb. Since watching her play the role of Aria Montgomery in Pretty Little Liars, Hale has proven time and time again, that she can play more than just a high school teenager.
The ending, while sad and emotional, was very satisfying, and didn’t end with one of those cliche cliffhangers.
Overall, I highly recommend watching it. You might be able to find it online, as long as SONY and BlumHouse are willing to release it early. Fingers crossed!
Music is the universal language. Whether you’re sad, angry, excited, or anxious, there’s always a song for what you’re going through.
Right now, as we’re facing a difficult time, when we’re not binge watching television shows or hanging with our families, we’re most likely laying in our beds and listening to music.
While these 7 songs in full length may not relate to the COVID-19 pandemic, certain lyrics in the song definitely do.
Don’t Show Up – Dua Lipa
“Don’t show up. Don’t come out. Don’t start caring about me now. Walk away. You know how. Don’t start caring about me now.”
Although this song is infamous on TikTok, through the “180” dance, these lyrics can really relate to how we’re feeling about this social isolation thing.
As much as you care and love your friends, that’s what FaceTime is for, and phone calls/texting. If you really care about those you love, then you can wait a few weeks to get coffee or go to your favorite park.
There’s always at least one person insisting on hanging out, and if you’re the type that usually caves, send them this article, and tell them to read these lyrics. It’s better for the both of you not to show up anywhere at the moment, trust me.
Don’t come out, unless it’s for food, water, or necessities. If you’re able to stay home, please do.
2. Take A Hint – Victoria Justice & Liz Gillies
“You think that we should hookup, but I think that we should not.”
Tinder, Bumble, and dating apps in general are a great way for people to meet a possible significant other. However, when there’s currently a pandemic going around the globe, meeting up with a stranger from a dating app may not be the best thing to do at the moment.
I say wait a few months. Have an online movie date with them, if need be. As far as I’m aware, Skype has a screen sharing feature, so you can most likely watch a movie on Netflix or Hulu at the same time. It will literally just be a Netflix and chill, without the funny business.
This way, you stay safe, they stay safe, and then once all of this is over, you can go out for a proper cup of coffee or out to a nice restaurant. Just be vigilant, and if the other one is trying to push things further, just tell them to take a hint. Your health is worth more than putting yourself in possible danger.
3. Rum N’ Tequila – John K.
“My life sucks a little when you’re oceans away. Stuck here and I’m feeling like I can’t catch a break.”
So, you’re stuck at home for 14 days while your town is in quarantine. I know, I know. There’s only so much that you can do without getting bored. So many Netflix shows, movies, and so many songs that you can bear without going crazy.
Well, how about doing something that you’ve never done before. If you’re not a writer, then try to write a creative poem, or a short story. You never know. It could turn into a huge hit if you publish it online.
If you like to watch shows, such as: Dancing With the Stars of SYTYCD, then create a dance of your own. Whether you follow a TikTok dance trend, or start free styling to your favorite song, get creative. Then, FaceTime your best friend or significant other, and show them what you got.
Also, charades and board games are always a great way to pass the time with the ones you love. You’re only stuck if you put that negative energy out there. I guarantee you that if you grab a notepad and write down a list of things you’ve never done, you can come up with some really cool indoor activities.
4. We’re All In This Together – High School Musical Cast
“We’re all in this together, and it shows, when we stand hand in hand… make our dreams come true.”
That’s it. The trend is coming back when we need it the most! Ashley Tisdale recently posted a TikTok of herself doing the choreography to the Disney Channel original movie, High School Musical. Earlier today, Vanessa Hudgens followed in Tisdale’s footsteps, and did her own little wine dance to the song.
Then, Bart Johnson (Coach Bolton) and KayCee Stroh (Martha) also posted a TikTok, duetting Tisdale, and dancing to the song. If the cast who hasn’t acted together in years could come together and do this, then we truly need to believe in unity. The lyrics are true. We are all in this together, and although we shouldn’t be standing hand in hand at the moment (six feet apart from one another, at the very least), we need to support one another and stop hoarding necessities.
There are 7 billion people in this world, and only so many supplies to go around. We need to have kindness and compassion in our heart, so that we can defeat this virus together.
5. We Can’t Stop – Miley Cyrus
“It’s our party. We can do what we want. It’s our party… We can kiss who we want.”
This one just highlights how ignorant teenagers are being towards the severity of this virus. Recently, Miami Beach closed down due to the public gathering hazards. The government officials of Miami wanted to take proper precaution and ensure that the transmission of the virus wouldn’t spread any further.
However, like the rebellious teenagers they are, many didn’t listen. According to them, they weren’t going to have their precious Spring break ruined by a virus that “wouldn’t even affect them”. So, they went and partied on the beach, without a care in the world.
While it may be true that the virus doesn’t appear to affect healthy teens as much, they’re not thinking of their parents or grandparents. They’re being selfish and thinking about how they need to have the “best spring break of their lives”. Meanwhile, they could feel perfectly fine, and then after they get home from their vacation, they could start showing symptoms, and spread it to their elders.
Viruses act as a domino effect, and those teens that are defying the rules need to realize the severity of it. As of recently, anyone that is caught on prohibited beaches will receive a hefty fine, and may even spend up to 60 days in jail.
Be smart. I promise that your vacation can wait until this whole situation settles down.
6. Umbrella – Rihanna
“Now that it’s raining more than ever, know that we’ll still have each other. You can stand under my umbrella. You can stand under my umbrella.”
Whether you’re quarantined with your best friend, your family, etc, now is the best time to spend every moment with them. Show them how much you care about them, and send heartfelt messages to those that aren’t able to be with you at the moment.
Fear-Mongering is becoming a real thing, and the more we’re able to stay calm and remain cautious, the better it will be. Rules are in place for a reason, and if you can help ease the mind of those around you, then they can do the same for others, and so on.
Make sure to check in on the ones closest to you, and help those that need it the most. If your grandmother is about to leave to get groceries, and you’re able to drive, offer to go get them for her. This way, you lessen her risk of contracting the virus, and you’ll show that you care.
A lot of people think that money is the key to a happy life, but kindness and love surpass anything materialistic.
7. Wide Awake – Katy Perry
“I’m wide awake. And now it’s clear to me, that everything you see, ain’t always what it seems.”
Due to this pandemic, everyone is acting out of fear. While it’s true that this is serious, we should be acting rationally, instead of irrationally. Pay attention to new updates, and listen for what your county mayor has to say. However, don’t spend all of your time reading COVID-19 articles and watching the news, because that’s only going to make things worse.
Also, be careful with where you get your information from. Last week, a hashtag was trending on Twitter, where a CBS News article stated that 40-70% of the world’s population would be infected by the COVID-19 virus. The internet was absolutely losing their minds, and making things worse in terms of scrambling for food, toilet paper, and going absolutely insane.
However, the article clearly states that it was just a projection. This means that this is just a prediction, or a rough calculation. There is no clear, hard evidence to confirm it — therefore, making it just a theory.
Please make sure that if you read something online, that you read it all the way through. If it’s through an unknown news company, or if they don’t have any credible sources, then don’t believe it unless ABC, NBC, or a reliable news company confirms it.
Remember, we’re all in this together. COVID-19, you’re going down.
Although the COVID-19 virus is very serious, and very real, it’s always great when we go on social media and see things that make us laugh. I don’t mean those memes of people making fun of the elderly, or anyone else dying, because that’s extremely insensitive.
I’m referring to when celebrities post clips or gifs about having to be quarantined, or anything that provides some comedic relief, during this terrifying time.
I think it’s safe to say that Miley never fails to come through with the Hannah Montana memes. First, it was her singing “The Best of Both Worlds” in the car. Now, she’s posting different clips of COVID-19 related content.
Two days ago, she posted a clip from the Hannah Montana episode, “Got To Get Her Out of My House”.
The video is of Miley Stewart wearing a mask, as she cleans Jackson’s bathroom. She starts screaming, “Ahhh, get it off!”, when his contaminated towels fall on top of her face. Then, she proceeds to thoroughly wash her face.
Cyrus captioned the Instagram video, “Day 2 Quarantine. This is the REAL ME. RIGHT NOW.”
She also posted another relatable Hannah Montana snippet, of Lily Truscott and Oliver Oken carrying a bunch of shopping supplies into Miley’s house, as she proceeds to tell Jackson that she bought all of that stuff, because it was an “emergency”.
Cyrus followed up that video with a caption that all of us needed to hear: “NO ONE needs every soup in the store. The more we hoard, the more expensive and sparse necessities will become, leaving many without essentials…”
2. Cardi B
Cardi B’s Instagram videos have been keeping a lot of us laughing through this dark time. Whenever Cardi B says anything in general, she says it in a way, where you’re bound to laugh. I mean, “okurrrrrr”, and “yowwwww”? If anyone besides Cardi says it, it’s strange.
Well, about six days ago, Cardi B posted the first of three COVID-19 related videos on Instagram. The first one talks about how she’s scared of the virus, and how people need to start taking this virus seriously, because, “this s*it is real”. She also mentions that everything we own comes from China, but I don’t want to add more fear to the boiling pot, so I won’t get into that.
Although it’s entertaining to watch the way she says “corona virus”, she’s getting others to listen. She’s telling people to be cautious and take it seriously, which we 100% should.
The next video that she posted was a day after the first one, and talks about how things are getting too real. She admits that she’s scared, and might “move to the islands” to get away from this. Towards the end of the video, Cardi speaks the truth: “Spread the word. Don’t spread the germs”.
That’s it. That’s the new 2020 slogan.
3. Paul Butcher
Do you remember Zoey 101? If you do, then you definitely know who Paul Butcher is. He played little Dustin Brooks on the hit Nickelodeon show.
Recently, Butcher took to Instagram to post a throwback scene from Zoey 101. In the scene, Dustin is talking to Zoey’s roommate, Dana. He asks where his sister is, and when Dana says that she doesn’t know, Dustin admits that he’s feeling a bit sick. Before he’s able to finish his sentence, however, Dana slams the door in his face and goes back into her room.
Honestly, I think we’re all feeling like Dana at this point. If we’re in the supermarket and someone coughs, you know we’re all going to be watching to make sure that person covered their mouth.
Right now, we’re all trying to stay away from this virus and quarantine ourselves. The best way to keep ourselves entertained is either by binge watching shows/movies, or by discovering new music. Well, Fletcher didn’t fail to impress.
The “UnDrunk” singer recently released her newest single, “Forever”, and it’s a bop. Not only did she release the song, but she also released the music video on her YouTube channel, and the female empowerment is so strong. The song revolves around being young and having fun, but knowing who you want to be with in the future. It’s about being in love with a specific person, but being honest, and knowing that as of right now, you can’t commit to them. However, down the line, if they’re willing to wait, then you’re certain that you can see “forever” with them.
The video gives off such a sensual vibe, and the song itself is very upbeat. The motions are quick, and the dances that are portrayed make you want to get up and move. The video features women with different body types/ethnicities, as they surround Fletcher and move their hands all across her body. I’m impressed with how in sync all of the dancers are, and it’s great that Fletcher is providing a platform for all types of women to showcase their talents.
She went on Instagram live earlier today, and she admitted that she wrote it about two years ago, and joked that the chorus predicted this whole situation. “I think I could love you forever, and ever, and ever, and ever. I don’t think think we should be together, together, together right now.” She said that it kind of predicted the fact that she’s not going to be with anyone right now, due to everyone’s COVID-19 social isolation.
Go watch the “Forever” video, when you get a chance. It’ll have you starting your own personal dance party, in the comfort of your own room.
5. Ashley Tisdale
Not only was she the reigning queen of Disney’s High School Musical, but she’s now the queen of TikTok. That’s right. Miss Sharpay Evans is back, and better than ever.
Ashley Tisdale has been posting a lot on TikTok, and she currently has about 3 million followers. Most recently, she posted her reaction of a fan’s TikTok. In the video, we see Donald Trump, uttering the words, “We’re all in this together.” The TikTok then switches to two girls with a surgical mask and gloves on. They begin to do the High School Musical dance to the song, “We’re All In This Together.”
Naturally, Tisdale laughs, and earlier today, she posted a video on her Instagram of her dancing to the song as well. She captioned it by saying, “If you need to work out while #selfquarantine, try this. Hopefully this will brighten your day a little!”
Ashley, I’m proud to say that you did NOT disappoint. Go follow her on TikTok, if you something to keep you in high spirits.
And, before I close out this article, I wanted to include a special video message, by none other than Lizzie McGuire herself: Hilary Duff.
If you’d like to see a part two, involving YouTubers and more celebrities, let me know by tweeting me: @Frequentea. Until then, stay safe, and stay positive!
As we all know, the COVID-19 virus is spreading like wildfire. People who have it are either quarantined in hospitals, their own homes, or they haven’t exhibited symptoms yet, and are unknowingly spreading it to other people.
Regardless, everyone is in a panic right now, and stores/supermarkets are looking like Black Friday every day now.
Although the pandemic is scary, in times of distress, it’s always good to have some positivity to fall back on. So, instead of watching the news 24/7, here are my top 7 television shows/film recommendations to watch, while staying at home.
The Suite Life of Zack and Cody
On Disney+, one of the best shows to watch is The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. I know, I know. “It’s a kid’s show. Why would any grown person want to watch that?” Well, for one thing, it’s Dylan and Cole Sprouse. Between Riverdale’s mystical Jughead, and the All Wise Meadery business man, the Sprouse twins have always kept things interesting.
The Disney Channel show also premiered during a time of innocence, when TikTok didn’t exist, blackberry phones were still popular, and the annual field day was still going on. It was an era of happiness, serenity, and simple humor. The jokes weren’t overrated, and nothing in that show was forced for views. You could watch it with a peace of mind, and bring yourself back to your childhood. The COVID-19 virus won’t have to exist in your mind for about 24 minutes an episode.
Another great show to watch (and you may have guessed it) is none other than Friends. You can never go wrong, watching that show. Between Chandler’s sarcasm, Ross’s whining, and Joey’s relatable food cravings, that show will bring you back to the early 2000’s.
The best thing about the series was how relatable each character was. You always knew somebody that you could send a Friend’s meme to, with the caption, “lol, this is this so you”.
I’d say the only stressful thing about that show was whether or not you think Ross and Rachel were truly on a break. If you and your friends have opposing opinions on that one, then good luck, Charlie. That show ruins friendships. Ironic, huh?
Although Netflix has unfortunately ended their streaming contract with Friends, you can watch it for free on Nick at Nite, at around 10 pm or so. However, if you don’t feel like waiting, I’m sure that you could find all of the episodes online.
3. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
One of the greatest movies of all time has to be Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. No matter when you were born, I’m sure that at some point, you’ve either “faked being sick” or you’ve done something to get out of going to classes for a day.
Ferris Bueller is all about getting out of school for a day. He has an elaborate plan, and teaches the audience how to fake sick. Actually, I should probably mention that his parents were gullible from the get go. So, I don’t recommend trying his method at home, because your parents might just laugh at you and tell you to get dressed for school.
There are also many obstacles that he goes through: getting his girlfriend out of school, convincing his best friend to let him take his strict father’s precious convertible, and tricking the principal into believing that his parents called in sick for Bueller. The writing, the humor, and everything about this film is genius. I guarantee that it’ll have you so invested, that you’ll forget all about this virus for the next hour and forty minutes.
4. Yes Man
Another comedic film that’s sure to get your snorting like a pig, is none other than the 2008 Jim Carey movie, Yes Man. It follows Carey’s character (Carl, a bitter bank worker), who meets a motivational speaker at a conference, and challenges Carl to say yes to everything for a year. The reasoning for this is due to Carl’s habit of saying no to anything and everything.
Though reluctant at first, Carl agrees, and the requests get more and more ridiculous as time goes on.
I don’t want to spoil the movie, but one of the requests involves an elderly woman asking for something, um… ratedr, to say the very least.
As long as you meet the proper age requirement, I highly suggest watching Yes Man. It’s currently available on Netflix.
5. One Day At A Time
A newer show that’s currently streaming on Netflix is the 2017 remake of the 1975 television show, One Day At A Time.
The show is about a Cuban mother, trying to adjust to her children living the American culture. Their grandmother, Lydia, also lives in the apartment, and in my opinion, her humor makes the show a comedy.
They portray realistic situations (such as the daughter coming out as a lesbian), with realistic outcomes (such as her mother and grandmother having to adjust to her lifestyle). It’s emotional, yet it will make you cry tears of laughter. You’ll be gaining abs by the time you finish the season.
There’s also a lot of Cuban dancing, and even if you’re not Hispanic, the family situations that are shown are still very relatable to most people.
One Day At A Time is coming out with season two on March 24th, and will be streaming on PopTV.
Whether you existed when live episodes were on Nickelodeon, or you came across the show on a streaming platform, you have to know the show, Victorious. It combines two of the world’s favorite things: music and visual entertainment.
Much like the Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Victorious was written during a time when it didn’t take much to make people laugh. First there was Cat Valentine: a sweet, but incredibly dumb redhead. It always took a minute or so for her to register what others were talking about, and she was always judged and ridiculed by outsiders, for her lack of common sense.
Then, there’s Jade West. West is an arrogant, scary looking woman. She almost always got what she wanted, and if she didn’t, then she found a way to make others pay for it. I’m pretty sure that the only reason the group hung out with her, was because they were all afraid of her.
Speaking of Jade, her boyfriend, Beck is a stunner. He had movie star hair, an incredible style, and he was the complete opposite of Jade.
Next, there’s Robbie and Rex. Robbie was a straight edge nerd, and Rex was his puppet that can talk.
André was calm, cool, and his songwriting ability was incredible. The boy could write a song in one night’s time, and have his lyrics memorized by the next day. He’s also talented both through singing, and playing the guitar. His grandma, on the other hand, had major paranoia issues, but you’ll have to watch to find out more about that.
Finally, there’s Tori and Trina Vega. Tori was accepted into Hollywood Arts, because her sister Trina’s tongue swelled up, and she couldn’t perform at the big showcase. Tori is the main character of the group, and the show mainly focuses on her journey. Trina was even worse than Jade. She’s arrogant, annoying, and has the voice of a squawking duck.
Between the 9 of them, they make this show worth watching. It also has some really great music, and you’d be impressed with their flexible vocal ranges.
You can watch all seasons of Victorious on Netflix.
7. The Bachelor: Season 24
And my favorite comedy television show that I recommend watching, is the most recent season of The Bachelor. The amount of drama and emotions that the contestants emitted truly made this the most comedic season of the series. Even the contestants themselves admitted that this season was overdramatic for absolutely no reason.
Whenever one of the contestants cried, Peter Weber gave them a rose. Whenever they were sensible and stayed out of drama, they were sent home. The season ended with… well, I’ll let you figure that out on your own. However, I’ll say this. It was the most emotional, complicated, cringeworthy season finale. Yet, I couldn’t take my eyes off of the screen.
Certain contestants definitely deserved to stay on longer, and others should have gone home sooner. Though, ultimately, that was Peter’s decision. The most that the viewers could have done was yelling at their screens, and creating memes for that night’s episode. It’s very safe to say that the memes for this season were quite hilarious, and even contestants like Mykenna Dorn and Kelsey Weier poked fun at memes of themselves. 90% of the contestants were such good sports, but of course, there had to be that select few that fueled the fire.
You can watch Peter Weber’s full journey, only on the Hulu app.
It’s been several days since The Bachelor finale aired, and we were still left without an official answer.
Peter chose Madison, despite his mother’s wish for him to end up with Hannah Ann. Madison also chose Peter. However, they announced on live television that they were going to take things “one step at a time”.
Some fans assumed that they were in a relationship without labels, and others took it as a slow process to someday win over mama Weber’s heart.
Unfortunately for Madison and Peter shippers, their relationship has quickly come to an end. Last night, Madison posted a photo of her and Peter on Instagram, and the caption was heart breaking.
“So incredibly thankful for this amazing journey I’ve had the honor of being a part of.” She continues on, by stating that, “As Peter and I have decided to go our separate ways, I am confident that we will both move in the direction of purpose and never forget that God has a plan in all things.”
She ends the statement with a heartfelt tribute to Peter. According to Prewett, she’s thankful for her time with Peter, and she will always be his “number one fan.”
At the same time of her post, Peter also released a statement on Instagram.
“Madi and I have mutually decided not to pursue our relationship any further. Believe me this was not easy for either of us to be ok with, but after a lot of honest conversations, we have agreed that this is what makes most sense for the two of us. The love and respect I have for Madi will continue to endure.”
Weber then proceeded to shout out Hannah Ann, and praise her for calling him out on the live finale episode.
He starts off by saying that, “Hannah Ann, you set an example for women everywhere a couple of nights ago… I accept full responsibility for my mistakes and wish you only the best.”
Hannah Ann has yet to respond to his post.
Speaking of Hannah Ann, she was recently a guest on The Ellen Show, and when asked about which bachelor she would date, she confessed that it was “the easiest question so far.” She then graced the audience by revealing that she would date none other than The Bachelorette, Season 15 contestant, Tyler Cameron.
(She also revealed that Peter wasn’t a good kisser, and I’m sure that I can speak for all of us, when I say that we weren’t expecting that.)
Going back to Madison and Peter, although fans are heartbroken, many are especially upset with none other than Peter’s mother, Barbra Weber. They’re accusing her of being the reason that Madi and Peter have chosen to separate. A lot of negative comments towards Barbra were left on his post.
“Don’t let Barb win, Pete”, one user commented. Another fan’s comment had over 2,000 likes, after writing, “well your mom ruined your relationship with madi faster than it could restart so that’s disappointing.”
It’s sad to hear that Peter’s season had to end like this, but we only wish them the best, and we hope that they find their soulmate in the future!
As for Hannah Ann, will we see her and Tyler Cameron in Bachelor In Paradise? We sure hope so!
Recently, we’ve learned that Italy was on a country wide lockdown, and that’s all the media seems to be talking about right now.
However, nobody from the U.S seems to know the severity of this virus, and the numbers that associate with it.
Recently, I reached out to a few people that I personally know who live in Italy, and who are currently experiencing this COVID-19 virus, first hand.
According to the first source, Margy, thousands of people are getting infected each day. This illness is spreading like wildfire, and it’s not just a “flu like cold.” Everyone is staying indoors, and the streets of Italy are wiped clean. She also stated that due to the fact that medical professionals are contracting the virus, and the number of confirmed cases exceed the number of available hospital beds, doctors will soon have to make the choice of who gets treated, and who must have to fend for themselves.
The way that the media is portraying this, is equivalent to the flu, and it’s so much more than just that.
Margy also sent me a screenshot of the updated numbers on the news in Italy, and the number of confirmed cases are 10,590. The number of deaths have risen to 827.
(Update: The death toll has since reached over 1,000 since this morning).
Yesterday, Italian influencer, Chiara Ferragni, posted a photo of her wearing a surgical mask. Below, she wrote a length caption, stating “This is to fully explain the situation to my foreign followers, who clearly don’t understand the situation here in Italy at the moment: IT IS BAD. We have more than 10,000 cases, and more than 600 deaths.”
She then proceeded to explain the same thing that Margy had mentioned. “The hospitals are doing all they can, but if the number of sick doesn’t slow down, they’ll have to start choosing, based on how young and likely to survive they are.”
She also posted a Go Fund Me link on her Instagram story, where people can donate to. Their donations go straight to the San Raffaele intensive unit in Milan, to provide the necessary equipment for creating new beds, and taking in more patients.
Update: As of approximately six minutes ago, Chiara posted the following to her Instagram account:
Another direct source that I spoke to, was Betina Sterie. She stated that a few weeks ago, the government came out and announced that there were only “50-60” that had confirmed cases, and nobody really paid attention to it, since the numbers weren’t high. However, now that the confirmed cases are 10,000+, she said that this quarantined lockdown happened too late, and that things are continuing to get worse.
All of these Italians want people in the U.S to take the necessary precautions, and prevent the outbreak from advancing to where they are right now.
(Update: As of 3:11 p.m EST, Betina shared update information about the virus in Italy)
Fear mongering is not going to stop the virus, and neither is acting like the virus doesn’t exist. Be proactive. Wash your hands for 20-30 seconds, use 60%+ of alcohol based hand sanitizer, take Vitamin C, and please remember to cough into your sleeve; not into the air, or into your hands.
We still have time to take precautionary measures, and remember that if you have any of these symptoms, please get checked by your doctor. Tom Hanks did, and he and his wife are currently being quarantined in Australia, after testing positive for the virus.
Everyone surely remembers the 2007 hit CW show, Gossip Girl. The show revolves around wealthy Upper East Sider, Serena Van Der Woodsen, and her life as the most popular girl in high school.
The series ended after 6 drama filled seasons, and fans were absolutely heartbroken. Since then, people have rallied for a reboot of the show, and it’s finally happening.
There’s going to be another Gossip Girl, and the cast was recently released. While the new series won’t include the original cast, the new cast is one to watch out for.
The cast includes Tavi Gevinson, Jason Gotay, Thomas Doherty, Emily Alyn Lind, Zión Moreno, Eli Brown, Johnathan Fernandez, Whitney Peak, and Adam Chanler-Berat.
Tavi Gevinson is best known for starting her own fashion blog in 2008, called Style Rookie. She is also known for her role on the FOX horror-comedy series, Scream Queens, as well as her appearance on NBC’s television show, Parenthood.
Thomas Doherty, you may know from the Disney Channel films: Descendants 1, 2, and 3. He was also on the UK Disney television show: The Lodge, as Sean Matthews. Doherty is currently dating former Disney star, Dove Cameron, and the amount of love that they show towards each other makes me feel incredibly single. We can’t wait to see him showcase his talent on the new series!
Jason Gotay is best known for his theatrical performances on Broadway’s musical rendition of Spider Man, and off broadway performances of Call Me Madam, and Between the Lines. He also had a role in NBC’s Peter Pan Live! His transition from theater, to a dramatic television show will be incredible to watch.
If you’re familiar with the CBS drama, Code Black, then you know who Emily Alyn Lind is. She played the role of Ariel in the first two seasons of the show. She was also a recurring character on Revenge; starring as Amanda Clarke.
Zión Moreno is fairly new to the acting industry. According to her IMDb, Moreno got her start in the modeling industry at the age of nineteen, and was quickly signed by two of the biggest modeling agencies in the country: Wilhelmina and Elite. She then went on to act in Melanie Martinez’ film, K-19, and has since acted in an unreleased project.
Eli Brown is also a rookie in the entertainment industry. Brown is best known is best known for his role as Dylan Walker, in the Freeform Pretty Little Liars spin-off, The Perfectionists. Brown has also acted in an animation short film in 2018, called Cupid’s Paradise.
Johnathan Fernandez is a Brooklyn, New York native. Best known for his role as Bernard Scorsese in the FOX television show, Lethal Weapon, this isn’t Fernandez’s first rodeo. The actor has been in the entertainment business since moving back to New York after graduating from Penn State University.
Whitney Peak is an actress, best known for her recurring role as Judith in Netflix’s The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Peak has also acted as Stella in the 2017 crime-drama, Molly’s Game. She is tied with Emily Alyn Lind, as the youngest cast member on the show (age 17). Best of luck to you on the series, Whitney!
And finally, there’s Adam Chanler-Berat. Berat is experienced in both theater and film, with his first appearance being in the 2008 off-broadway musical, Next To Normal. He continued on with the show, when it moved to Broadway the following year. His film credits include the 2013 Vince Vaughn film, Delivery Man, and the comedy feature, It Could Be Worse.
What I enjoy most about these actors/actresses is that although they’ve been in some sort of television show/film, they all have one thing in common: they’ve never had lead roles. This show is a chance for them to showcase their talents, and receive the stardom that they so rightly deserve.
However, I do want to mention that one original cast members will make a reprise. It’s been confirmed that Kristen Bell will be the narrator in the upcoming show.
According to an article by Variety, the show will be set eight years into the future, from what had happened in the original finale episode. The show “will follow a new generation of New York private school teens who are introduced to the social surveillance of the Gossip Girl site.”
In other words, you thought Dan Humphrey was ruthless online? Imagine what this show is capable of portraying now. Between iPhones, cyber bullying, and greater technological advances/easier ways to hack someone’s IP address, there is so much that can be done with this series.
We can’t wait to see it, and we look forward to the show’s premiere.
The Gossip Girl reboot will debut on HBOMax, and while the exact date is unknown, the new streaming service is scheduled to launch in May of this year.
Last night was the last part of The Bachelor finale, and we finally got to know how Peter’s long and exhausting journey ended.
Chris Harrison introduces the show, and along with introducing Peter’s family in the crowd, we see that Kelley Flanagan is in the crowd.
Then, we entered into part two of the episode, where Peter decided that Hannah Ann Sluss was “the one”. Although he was still upset that Madison left, he felt like everything happened for a reason.
So, he met with Neil Lane to pick out a ring for Hannah Ann, and then FaceTimed Hannah Ann’s father, to ask for his blessing to propose. Once his blessing was approved, Peter got ready for the big proposal.
However, things took a turn when Chris Harrison admitted that Sluss wasn’t sure that she was going to show up, and this leads to the finale promo that we’ve seen all season.
Peter expressed that he felt like he was “going to pass out.” Hannah Ann still had no idea that Madison had left. So, she most likely assumed that Peter was either going to choose Madison, or that he was still unsure about his feelings.
Eventually, Hannah Ann did show up, and she put her whole heart into Peter’s hands. Once again, Peter wasn’t fully honest about his unresolved feelings towards Madison, and decided to tell Hannah Ann that Madison left, just seconds before proposing.
Of course, Hannah Ann accepted the engagement, and the two embraced, as Peter handed her the final rose.
Everything seemed to be heading in the right direction. The next scene involved Peter telling his family that he chose Hannah Ann. All of them (especially his mother) got very emotional, and during a FaceTime call between the Webers and Sluss, they welcomed her into the family with open arms.
Everything was working out in his favor.. until about a month into the engagement, when they admitted to barely talking for that month. Sluss was also in Knoxville, and Weber was in Los Angeles. However, when Sluss finally went to talk to Peter in person at his house, Peter admitted that his heart was still torn between her and Madison.
Naturally, Sluss didn’t take this well, and she handled the situation like a mature adult. She didn’t scream, and she didn’t hit him. She simply verbalized her feelings, and it ended with her taking the ring off and calling off the engagement. Peter tried to follow her out to talk to her, but she simply ended the discussion, got into the car, and left without saying another word. Even Peter admitted that he deserved everything that she had said.
Ultimately, the bachelor ruined Hannah Ann’s first engagement, and he strung her along with his inconsistent emotions.
After Hannah Ann broke things off, we returned to the live stage setting, where Chris Harrison brought Hannah Ann out to confront Peter. She spoke to him and expressed herself with such dignity and grace, and I have to give her a lot of praise for that. She admitted that she didn’t appreciate him holding back his conflicted feelings until after the engagement. Sluss felt like a second choice, and as though she was completely blindsided.
Sluss also exposed Peter for contacting Hannah Brown during their engagement period. She stated that he needed closure, but by him reaching out to Brown, it involved a third party into their already-struggling relationship.
After they wrapped up their conversation, the episode continued, with Chris Harrison visiting Madison in Auburn, Alabama. Madison admitted that she still had strong feelings for Peter, and that she wanted to give it another chance. So, Harrison made the sneaky decision to fly Madison out to surprise Peter at his house.
They ended up reconciling, but they didn’t give confirmation as to whether or not they were going to continue their relationship. That is, until Chris Harrison brought Madison onto the stage. Madison and Peter admitted in front of the live studio audience that they had strong feelings for one another, and that they were going to take things slowly.
However, Peter’s parents (more specifically, Barbra Weber) didn’t handle that announcement too well. Although she does care about her son, a lot of viewers weren’t too happy with how she presented herself. “Peter needs to fail to learn how to succeed”. The crowd immediately boo’ed that response, and Peter defended Madison.
Barbra wasn’t the only Weber that spoke ill of Madison. Peter Sr. spoke his mind as well. Although, were his words really his own thoughts, or was he pressured into saying negative things about Madison? Before Peter Sr. had the chance to speak, Barbra uttered a sentence at her husband in Spanish. Many fans heard the same sentence: “Di algo mal, también, ayúdame”. This translates to, “Say something bad, too. Help me out”.
Although Madison remained calm throughout the negative backlash from Peter’s parents, she defended their relationship towards the end. She stated that, “This is my journey too. This isn’t just Peter choosing me, but this is me choosing Peter.”
Where their relationship will end up going… That’s for Peter and Madison to determine.
Here’s to hoping that love can conquer even the toughest of mountains, and hopefully, Peter’s family can accept his happiness.
The corona virus is slowly turning into a global pandemic, and it’s even getting so bad that it shut down Italy. The entire country of Italy is now under lockdown, and the stock market is continuously taking bigger and bigger financial hits.
Washington, Florida, New York and Maryland are currently under a state of emergency, and 28 states have confirmed cases. As of right now, New York has the most confirmed cases of the CO-VID19 virus (142), and it is speculated that the state might go into lockdown mode if these rates continue to climb.
Hand sanitizer and surgical masks are getting wiped off of the shelves in every drug store, super market, etc., and companies in major affected cities are mandating that their employees work from home, to avoid getting infected on public transportation.
As important as hand sanitizer and washing your hands are, be careful with the type of hand sanitizer that you buy. According to an article posted by Business Insider, “An effective hand sanitizer has at least 60% alcohol content, but some products contain the alcohol substitute benzalkonium chloride, which isn’t as good at killing germs.”
The typical name brand sanitizer that you’re paying a lot of money for, may not be worth the price and time. Although anything 60% alcohol content and up is not guaranteed to kill the virus, it will definitely put you at a lesser risk. Also, for those who are trying to use vodka as a substitute for hand sanitizer, here’s a message from Tito’s Vodka:
As for surgical masks, you should only wear one if you’re infected with the disease, because while it keeps the germs from getting out, it doesn’t keep the germs from entering the mask, due to the air pockets.
A lot of people are waiting on a cure for the corona virus, or for some sort of vaccine to prevent the illness. However, due to the fact that it’s a viral illness, a vaccine isn’t going to prevent people from catching it. Much like the common cold, your body must learn to create antibodies that will fight off of illness on its own. The CO-VID19 has also divided into multiple strains. So, even if the perfect vaccine were to be created, it would only be able to ward off a certain strain of the virus.
There are many theories that are currently being circulated, regarding the disease, and while I’m not going to detail every possible theory on the internet, I’ll certainly link a video to the channel that talks about them the most. I do want to preface that although some of these theories make sense, they are not confirmed.
I would, however, like to mention an interesting theory that I saw on a YouTube channel, called Spill. This one in particular has to do with the fatality rate in China, and the unaccounted number of deaths. According to Spill, “on two separate occasions, two people shared strange photos of Coronavirus numbers, from Chinese media companies: Tencent QQ and NetEase. Both photos showed dramatically larger numbers of infected and fatalities.” She then goes on to say, that the same companies “later updated the photos to a much smaller number.”
Tencent later released a statement, in which they denied the validity of the photos, and blamed it on the photoshopping and technical altering by Chinese citizens.
There are also other theories in relation to undocumented death toll numbers, and misdiagnosed death certificates, but if you’d like to find out more about that, those specific theories start at 4:37 in the video below.
Once again, I’d like to state that these are all theories surrounding the virus, and while there is a lot of speculation, none of this has officially been confirmed.
Although you should still be mindful and cautious, if you’re young and in good health, then your chances of defeating the CO-VID19 are extremely high. However, it is highly recommended that those over the age of 60, and those with underlying conditions, should remain indoors as often as possible, as they’re more at risk for the detriments of the virus.
