About a week ago, David Henrie, Gregg Sulkin and Jennifer Stone reunited to play a “Wizards of Waverly Place” trivia. The video was uploaded onto Sulkin’s collaboration channel with Cameron Fuller.
Fans were boasting about the mini reunion, and they flooded the comments with requests for a full cast reunion.
Well, yesterday, David Henrie posted a TikTok, and it included none other than “Wizards of Waverly Place” star, Selena Gomez. Before rising up as an infamous singer, Gomez played the lead role as Alex Russo in the 2007 Disney Channel show.
Fans of the show were absolutely ecstatic when they saw the two reuniting.
While some fans have assumed that it may just be a small cast reunion, others are hoping for a reboot episode.
“They’re definitely making a reunion episode”, one person commented.
It seems as though more than just Henrie and Gomez are involved in the reunion. Sulkin reposted Henrie’s video to his Instagram story.
Josh Sussman also left a comment, making the full reunion even more hopeful and apparent. Sussman played the role of “Hugh Normous” in WOWP.
However, just when fans thought that they had cracked the secret code, the D’Amelio sisters hinted at their involvement in the reunion.
Several hours after Henrie posted on TikTok, Dixie D’Amelio posted a video with Charli D’Amelio. The two sisters imitated Henrie and Selena, and tagged their TikTok accounts. Charli later posted a similar video and tagged Gomez.
Unfortunately, that’s all of the information that we know for now. Fans have already reworked their theories to include a “Wizards of Waverly Place” reunion episode, featuring the D’Amelio sisters.
Although, Henrie may have indirectly shut the reboot down, when he responded to the following comment:
We can only hope that the news will be revealed in a timely manner. Until then, we’ll gladly welcome any and all teasers.
Social media influencers are constantly in the public eye. So, if a creator with 100,000+ followers posts something on social media, people will either praise them or cancel them.
James Charles has been known for getting defensive in the past with tweets, resulting in him getting “cancelled” each time. Up until recently, Charles has managed to stay out of any scandals or internet drama.
However, on August 5th, Charles found himself in hot water when he tweeted the following:
Many people began to speculate that the tweet was in response to Dixie D’Amelio, Charli D’Amelio, and Addison Rae.
On July 30th, Morphe’s official Instagram account announced the launch of their latest collaboration, involving the D’Amelio sisters. Although the D’Amelio sisters have experimented with makeup in the past, they’re not known for wearing it every day — which further hinted at the possibility that Charles’ tweet was towards them.
Similarly, Addison Rae has also been promoting her upcoming makeup line. Rae collaborated with Madeby Collective to created Item Beauty. Since the line is set to launch in a few days, fans also assumed that the tweet may have been directed towards her.
However, Charles set the record straight the following day, when he tweeted out an updated statement. In the statement, Charles’ shut down rumors of the tweet relating back to his friends, and admitted that his initial tweet was towards Alicia Keys.
“A few years ago, she announced that she would no longer wear makeup, so I was bothered by it because many celebrities come into the beauty space as a cash grab without any actual passion and then leave”.
Charles’ also went on to admit that he was immature for indirectly tweeting at someone, and admitted fault for assuming, without researching. Alicia Keys did not release a makeup line, but a skin care line. Although the brand is currently unnamed, it will be available sometime next year, and is also a part of Keys’ collaboration with E.L.F. cosmetics.
Charles’ humorously responded to a Twitter user, who compared his vocals to that of Alicia Keys.
On July 31st, Donald Trump announced that he was planning on signing an executive order to ban TikTok by Saturday, August 1st. Fortunately for TikTok users, TikTok was still up and running by Saturday evening.
TikTok’s U.S General Manager, Vanessa Pappas, uploaded a video to TikTok on August 1st. In the video, she started off by promising that TikTok is not going anywhere, and that it will continue to thrive as a platform for creatives of all backgrounds.
TikTok is owned by the Chinese company, ByteDance. However, according to an article by the New York Times, ByteDance has offered to sell TikTok’s U.S. operations. Although various companies are interested in purchasing the U.S. operations, Microsoft is reported to be the leading candidate.
A reliable source informed the New York Times that, “Microsoft and other companies have been in talks to buy TikTok, but a deal has not yet been reached”.
Although TikTok is here to stay until further notice, they have some new competition. On August 5th, Instagram announced the launch of its newest feature, Reels. Similarly to TikTok, Reels consists of 15-second long creative clips. Anyone can record, edit and upload a clip. People are also able to use hashtags, visual/speed effects, and select an audio from the list.
The main differences between TikTok and Instagram are the duration (TikTok allows for one minute clips, while Reels limits the videos to 15-seconds), character count (Reels is unlimited, while TikTok has a limit of 150 characters), and the search feature. On TikTok, users can search for videos from their favorite influencer/creator. However, on Reels, it appears as though users have to exit the feature and manually search their favorite content creator. If they’ve posted a Reel, then it will show up as a video icon on their Instagram profiles.
People are having mixed reactions to the new feature. Some are annoyed, claiming that they “copied” TikTok.
Meanwhile, others are upset at the lack of creative expansion for up and coming creators. While TikTok’s algorithm allows for anyone to be featured on their “For You Page”, the Reels algorithm is set up differently. Their version of the “For You Page” would be landing on the Explore page — which is known for consisting of celebrities and populars creators/pages.
However, some are willing to give Reels a chance, in case TikTok eventually gets banned in the U.S.
The most hilarious reaction to Reels comes from TikTok itself. The official Twitter account was honest about its response towards the new Instagram Reels:
This isn’t the first time that Instagram has added a new feature to their visual platform. In August of 2016, Instagram launched their “story” feature. This allowed users to post photos/videos of their day, without flooding their main feed. These stories were set to disappear after 24 hours. The story feature was created, as a way to compete with Snapchat. People were originally fascinated with Snapchat, due to its privacy, shortened footage, and unique filters.
Hopefully Reels will continue to add new features as time goes by. We wish the best of luck to Instagram on their new venture!
After a TikTok was posted, showing proof of Griffin Johnson’s alleged cheating, fans noticed that D’Amelio had unfollowed Johnson on all social media platforms.
Charli D’Amelio has also unfollowed Johnson, and Dixie posted this cryptic tweet:
A few days ago, the breakup was practically confirmed, when a reporter from The Hollywood Fix approached Dixie at LAX. She was just getting back to Los Angeles, after attending her high school graduation ceremony in Connecticut.
The reporter was sincere about her feelings towards the breakup, and although he refrained from directly asking, he did proceed to inquire about possible new love interests.
However, Dixie was quick to shut that down, and stated that she was going to focus on herself for the time being.
Well, on August 2nd, Dixie uploaded a new video on YouTube. The video was titled, “My Last Date With Griffin”, and was her way of confirming the breakup, without feeling pressured to do so.
Towards the beginning of the video, Dixie revealed that although she and Johnson had recently broken up, the video was edited and planned for quite some time now. So, after including her disclaimer, she proceeded to show footage of the ex-couple going on their first private helicopter ride.
Since the news broke of Johnson and D’Amelio’s breakup, Johnson has been receiving major backlash from fans. The negative comments have accumulated, to the point where Johnson has turned off all of the comments on his TikTok account.
D’Amelio had previously asked fans not to send hate to Johnson. According to D’Amelio, negative comments will not fix anything.
It’s a “Wizards of Waverly Place” reunion! Well, sort of. Although some of the cast members were absent, Gregg Sulkin (Mason Greyback), David Henrie (Justin Russo), and Jennifer Stone (Harper Finkle) have reunited for a YouTube video.
On August 2, Gregg Sulkin and Cameron Fuller uploaded a video to their YouTube collaboration channel, titled: “Wizards of Waverly Place Reunion (w/ David Henrie, & Jennifer Stone)”.
In the video, Fuller officiated a WOWP trivia. Sulkin, Henrie, and Stone all played against one another, as they put their skills to the test.
They were quizzed on topics, such as: the Russo sibling count, number of seasons, amount of [guest] set visits, etc.
During the trivia, it was also revealed that the “Jessie” television show took place on the same stage as “Wizards of Waverly Place”.
Demi Lovato had also made an appearance, during one of the live tapings. According to Henrie, “Demi was Selena’s friend. She brought her to the taping, and she was sitting in the audience. There was a break between shooting, and a voice from heaven just belted out from the audience, on a microphone”.
The mini reunion was filled with laughs, nostalgia, and learning new GenZ slang, such as ‘drip’ and ‘lit’.
Henrie ended up winning the WOWP trivia, but that wasn’t surprising — considering the fact that his character did win the family wizard competition.
Viewers also got to hear the infamous Harper Finkle laugh from Jennifer Stone, and it brought back so many memories for people.
“Omg, the iconic Harper laugh!”, one fan commented.
Everything about the video brought back memories for Disney Channel fans, who grew up watching the show. It’s officially been 8 years, since the last episode of “Wizards of Waverly Place” aired on Disney Channel.
Hopefully, after this pandemic ends, the cast will do a full WOWP reunion, featuring: Selena Gomez, Jake T. Austin, David Henrie, Jennifer Stone, Gregg Sulkin, Maria Canals-Barrera, David Deluise, Bailee Madison, and Bridget Mendler.
Sulkin has even admitted that he would be interested in a future reboot of the show.
While we wait for the full cast reunion, please enjoy this TikTok of Jennifer, David and Gregg recreating the “Crazy Funk Junky Hat” song.
On March 2, during a GMA special, it was revealed that Clare Crawley would be the next Bachelorette. Due to the global pandemic, however, filming was delayed, and there were even rumors that Crawley’s season may have been cancelled, altogether.
Luckily, that wasn’t the case, and filming was set to begin in mid-July. However, on Saturday, August 1st, a Reddit user posted unverified information about Crawley’s season. According to the Reddit user, there were reportedly many difficulties between production and Crawley during filming. This ended with Crawley allegedly being recasted by Tayshia Adams. Adams was a contestant on Colton Underwood’s season of “The Bachelor”. She was also on Season 6 of “The Bachelor in Paradise”.
Bachelor enthusiast, Steve Carbone (@realitysteve) stated that although he wasn’t able to confirm it at the time, he believed that there was some validity to the replacement.
According to an article by Life & Style magazine, Crawley is already engaged to one of The Bachelorette contestants — former football player, Dale Moss. Per one of their sources, “Clare threatened to quit the show after only 12 days of filming because she had ‘already fallen in love’ with Dale”.
Carbone also theorized that Crawley and Moss may have been romantically speaking before filming even began — which could explain why their journey was so fast-paced.
Although Adams will end up replacing Crawley, viewers will still be able to watch Moss and Crawley’s love story unfold. “The Bachelorette” is scheduled to premiere in September.
Details have yet to be announced, regarding Adams’ candidate lineup, safety precautions, start date, etc. The only thing that we can confirm for certain is that Adams is currently in quarantine at La Quinta Resort in Palm Springs, California.
On July 27th, The Dolan Twins uploaded a new YouTube video, titled: “I Surprised Him With His Least Favorite TikToker”. In the video, Ethan Dolan surprised Grayson Dolan with one of the Hype House co-founders, Thomas Petrou. In the past, Grayson had admitted that Petrou resembled his appearance. According to Ethan, however, Grayson has always worked hard to stand out from the crowd. So, when he realized that Petrou looked similar to him, Grayson became a bit flustered.
To get revenge for randomly surprising him with his doppelgänger, Grayson called a paparazzi from The Hollywood Fix. One week ago, The Dolan Twins addressed fan assumptions, and one of those assumptions pertained to Ethan’s relationship. Although he refrained from going into detail, Ethan did confirm that he’s in a committed relationship.
Fans have since assumed that Ethan’s girlfriend is none other than Kristina Alice. Alice played the role of Ethan’s love interest, in the 2018 “Hawaiian Party” music video. The two shared a passionate kiss towards the end of the video, and since 2019, fans have speculated a possible relationship.
Dolan fans have done their research, and they’ve noticed multiple encounters, such as: the two were posting at the same places, shoes/articles of clothing, and fans even recognized Ethan’s hand holding onto Kristina’s face.
Although no name was mentioned in Grayson’s ambush video, revealing questions were created around those events. Grayson included a question about Ethan’s hand being in the photo with Kristina, and he even exposed their anniversary date: October 12th, 2019.
While speaking to the viewers, Grayson admitted that Ethan’s relationship was long distance, and that Ethan was almost always preoccupied on FaceTime with his significant other. Well, Kristina Alice currently resides in Australia, and due to the ongoing pandemic, traveling is advised against.
When it came time for The Hollywood Fix reporter to bombard Ethan with relationship questions, it became incredibly awkward. Ethan was sitting in their car with the windows rolled down, while Grayson was recording from around the corner. He had nowhere to go, since Grayson had also taken the car keys. The Q&A session was very awkward for both parties, and Ethan’s face grew redder upon each question.
After Grayson admitted that the interview was just a set up, Ethan revealed that he does have plans to discuss his relationship, during an episode of their podcast — Deeper With The Dolan Twins.
Rumors began swirling in March of this year, regarding Dixie D’Amelio and Griffin Johnson’s relationship. On March 4th, Johnson posted several photos of the two on Instagram, and captioned the post with a simple heart.
A few days later, Dixie posted a series of Instagram photos, highlighting her wisdom teeth surgery. The first photo included Johnson smiling, as D’Amelio held ice packs against her face.
The two began making cameos in one another’s TikTok videos, and fans quickly began shipping the duo.
On May 3rd, D’Amelio posted a YouTube video, from the day she got her wisdom teeth taken out, and Johnson can be seen numerous times throughout the video. He had been there to take care of her, and he also seemed to be getting along wonderfully with the D’Amelio family.
Recently, however, a TikTok was posted by Madison Galley, in which she “exposed” Johnson. The TikTok included screenshots of flirty conversations that the two had through Snapchat and Instagram. Johnson had reportedly asked Galley for her Snapchat, and then stated that he was single.
Well, it wasn’t too long before D’Amelio saw the video and simply commented a series of ellipses.
At the end of the TikTok, Galley included a screenshot of D’Amelio direct messaging her on Instagram.
Fans were initially trying to debunk the video and some claimed that it was photoshop. However, shortly after the video went viral, TikTokRoom revealed that D’Amelio had unfollowed Johnson on both Instagram and Twitter.
Many fans are now claiming that Chase Hudson was “right all along”. On July 7th, Chase “LilHuddy” Hudson found himself wrapped up in drama, after admitting that he kissed Nessa Barrett, while allegedly ‘talking’ to Charli D’Amelio. Barrett is Josh Richard’s ex-girlfriend, and while Barrett and Hudson were both single at the time, they received a ton of backlash.
Hudson was even getting hate from other influencers, and it fueled him to expose a list of Sway House members, and their past wrongdoings.
One of the people on his list was Griffin Johnson, and Hudson claimed that Johnson had allegedly cheated on Dixie with two women (that he knew of). Johnson and D’Amelio were quick to deny the accusation, and many people had accused Hudson of lying.
After Thursday night’s events, however, many fans are now apologizing to Hudson for not believing him.
Hype House co-founder, Thomas Petrou, also commented on the situation: “Guess Chase wasn’t lying after all”.
Although nothing was directly confirmed, D’Amelio tweeted out the following yesterday:
She had also asked people to stop sending hate to Johnson, and that it wouldn’t solve anything. D’Amelio has since gone private on Twitter.
Johnson has also tweeted out, and while he did not address the situation, he spoke out about hate comments, and how too much backlash may be what pushes someone to their breaking point.
Hopefully, D’Amelio and Johnson will handle this situation behind the scenes, and away from the internet. In the mean time, a huge congratulations goes out to D’Amelio, for graduating from high school yesterday afternoon.
Tony Lopez is a 19-year-old TikToker — best known for his Hype House attribute, and dancing videos.
Within the past few days, however, fans simultaneously began acting as though Lopez had passed away.
“R.I.P Tony” was flooding the comment section of his most recent TikToks, and it happened so frequently that even Lopez himself responded to the comments.
“Why is my comment section this rn?”, the caption read. Lopez went from looking confused, to playing along with the death hoax. He laid on the floor and pretended to be deceased.
Most of the comments under that TikTok were things like, “his mom is posting his drafts… omg, it’s like he’s still here”, or “fly high, helicopter”.
Lopez’s death hoax traced back to Larray’s birthday party. On Tuesday, July 21st, Nikita Dragun organized a surprise birthday party for social media influencer, Larray. Other influencers, such as: Charli D’Amelio, Bryce Hall, Addison Rae, James Charles, Ondreaz Lopez, Tony Lopez, and more were also in attendance.
The influencers received backlash from various media outlets, due to their “carelessness” for Covid-19.
Outside influencers, such as Tyler Oakley and Elijah Daniel, have also called them out — with Daniel recently revealing that many party-goers have already tested positive for Covid-19.
However, Lopez is allegedly receiving backlash for giving a lap dance to Larray, when he’s in a committed relationship.
Larray is currently in a relationship with influencer, Brady Potter. Many fans felt that it was disrespectful to invade Larray’s personal space, when Potter was in the same room. Some even claimed that Larray “looked uncomfortable”.
The morning after Larray’s party, Lopez kept his tweet vague and mysterious:
Since Lopez has received direct backlash for past scandals, fans have decided to take a different approach this time, and created Lopez’s death hoax.
